Fonts are more than design tools
When people talk about fonts, they often think of design, typography, and visual expression. At FontHubs, we see fonts not merely as design assets, but as carriers of language and culture.
There are over 7,000 languages and hundreds of writing systems worldwide—from Latin and Cyrillic to Arabic, Devanagari, Han characters, Tibetan, Khmer, and Myanmar script. Each carries its own history, culture, and identity.
In the digital world, connecting languages to the right fonts is not always straightforward. Designers, developers, and global teams need more than font files—they need to understand how fonts relate to languages.
- Which fonts support Arabic?
- Which fonts render Vietnamese characters correctly?
- Which open-source fonts cover Cyrillic?
- Which family can serve multiple language markets at once?
How FontHubs began
FontHubs started as an open-source font discovery platform, collecting freely licensed fonts from around the world.
As we grew, we realized users were not just looking for fonts—they were looking for fonts that serve specific languages and cultures. That insight reshaped our mission.
From font library to language-first platform
Traditional font sites are organized as Font → Category → Download. FontHubs is building a new structure:
Language ↓ Writing system ↓ Font ↓ Coverage
- Find fonts by language
- Explore fonts by writing system
- See which languages a font supports
- Compare coverage across families
- Discover fonts for global products
Building a global language–font knowledge graph
Our goal is not only to catalog fonts, but to connect fonts, languages, writing systems, and Unicode coverage into a knowledge network.
Every language deserves to be seen. Every script deserves digital support. Every great font deserves to reach the people who need it.
Start from language—not just from a font name.
